Hello 2020,
Starting the interview session this month with Natalie, a super talented & creative nail tech that started her nail journey in 2017.
Let's read her story and check out her lovely mini-masterpieces!
MG: When did you start your career? What do you enjoy most about doing nails?
I started my nail journey in spring of 2017, qualifying in acrylic nails later that year. Every nail for me is like a mini masterpiece! I love the creative side of nails.
MG: Who is your biggest inspiration for your nail technician career?
I remember discovering Kirsty Meakin and being hooked. Her creativity was and still is truly inspiring. Then, I met my now good friend Karen from Nail Sugar who has made my nail journey unforgettable.
MG: Why did you start the Youtube Channel? Did you ever imagine you will have so many followers?
Initially I started my YouTube channel just for fun. It’s grown more than I could have imagined and now do it in the hope I can inspire and help people through their nail journey as others have helped me.
MG: What's your favorite gadget/nail tool?
My favorite tool is without a doubt my Natalie Mugridge Ultra Fine Nail Art brush! I use it on almost every set I create!
MG: You are very creative! Do you have any favorite kinds of designs you like to create?
I don’t think I have a favorite design to create, but I do go through phases! Like at the minute I’m enjoying using inks to create nails, but I think it’s more about finding a product I enjoy using which determines what kind of design I create!
MG: How many gels do you own? What are your 3 favorite gels from Madam Glam?
I don’t know exactly how many gels I own other than it’s over 500. My fav 3 gels from Madam Glam are.... now this wasn’t an easy answer because there are many!.... the new Velvet Matte Top Coat-it’s amazing, Slow Burn and Rose.
MG: What’s your best tip for getting beautiful, well-groomed nails?
This is a “Do what I say, not as I do” answer... Remove products off your nails PROPERLY! I’m terrible for picking mine off and it leaves them in a bad state. Oh, cuticle oil every day!!
MG: Which celebrity would be your dream client? Why?
I’d love to do Davina McCalls nails, I don’t think she lives far from me and I think she’s just an amazing person! Failing that any celeb with nice nails will do! Lol.
MG: Do you have any tip or advice to share with our community, younger and future nail techs or simply nail lovers?
Don’t give up on what you love! We’re all at different stages of our nail journey, some progress quicker than others. Some are naturally gifted at doing nails while others need more practice and those are the people we need to help and encourage. We were all beginners once and we’re all still learning! Be kind always!
