NO WASTE with Madam Glam!

REDUCE WHAT YOU NEED. REUSE WHAT YOU CONSUME!

Given the state of the Planet, many of us are trying to buy less and less new stuff. After all, buying new only creates demand for a whole supply chain of destruction. Yet, there is a delicate situation: if we buy less, that’s great for the planet but bad for not only the economy overall, but the millions of people who rely on the manufacturing industries for their livelihoods.

So how can we maintain economic growth without being destructive?
Upcycling our products is one of them.

*upcycling, also known as creative reuse, is the process of transforming by-products, waste materials, useless, or unwanted products into new materials or products perceived to be of greater quality, such as artistic value or environmental value.

An upcycling project can be whatever you want it to be; a personal DIY project to refresh your home decor, a creative outlet to mix up your wardrobe, or an exploration into sustainable living. Whatever your 'why', the goal is to take something that is no longer used and turn it into something you can benefit from, and you can totally do that with Madam Glam’s Soak-Off Gel Polishes!

How to Use Your Old Gel Polish in New Ways

The uses for old nail polish are basically endless! Nail polish creates a protective barrier between your skin and the metals in your jewelry or clothing that might cause you serious allergic reactions. In fact, the Asthma and Allergy Foundation of America actually recommends covering nickel-plated items in polish to reduce contact dermatitis symptoms in allergy sufferers. And that's just one of its countless uses. You can style your keys, buttons, hair clips, or phone cases — they will be so easy to track down!

You can get handy and artsy with it, too, which makes it a strong contender for a spot in your toolbox. Try to customize your own jewelry, accessories, you can even go extra and refurbish your car, instruments, nail tools or different objects in the house like vases, flower pots, mugs, ceramic plates, glasses. In fact, you probably have a couple of old bottles that were on their way to the trash anyway.

If you’re a nail junkie like us and tend to buy more colors every month, we support that! We also support seeing you mixing together the colors you don’t want anymore to create new ones! If you have barely used any new gel polishes from us, maybe you still have some sealed bottles, this can temporarily save you from having to buy a new color that you are able to make yourself. You can layer different colors in one bottle to create a marble effect!

For materials like gel polish bottles, it takes extremely long years before they biodegrade. They are in the category of glass and may take up to a million years before they decompose. This means that the bottle of that nail polish you are currently wearing would outlive you and up to ten generations after you. So why not turn them into cute tiny flower vases or rings holders?

Our glamorous community joined its forces to show you some fun, easy and glamorous ways you can upcycle our gel bottles! Here are some very easy and creative ideas for you!

Look at you. You're totally handy. Be proud!
